Beautiful mosiacs

Found this church on the way to the craft market which we never found and it was a delightful surprise. Beautiful gold mosaics, paintings on the ceiling.

Another beautiful example of the Baroque style, this city is an open air museum and reeds each church is treated as a museum. This church outside is simple but the really interesting part is contained inside where there are works of art really fascinating including beautiful paintings and frescoes. It's worth spending even a few minutes here.

I love to visit the the churches in Italy, I am Roman Catholic and love that I can walk in pay my respects and view works of arts from the Renaissance on the church walls. This church was not a disappointment a tranquil amazing place to spend five minutes in contemplation. The one thing I found disappointing in Palermo was... More

This really is a rare gem of a church. The outside is very plain but inside is awesome. The artisan work with mosaic is absolutely exquisite. It is amazing that such intricate work was achieved at that time. There are mosaic works all over Europe but this example is worth seeing and ranks up there with the best. Not that... More

From the outside, I could not see anything special until I went inside. Speechless! Wonderful interior decoration. Really fantastic! I felt so much admired of its richness and skillfulness. The craftsmanship was in top level. It was worthy at all. Good value and good moment.

Really spectacular over-the-top interior. According to Lonely Planet the nuns kept it a secret for quite a while so it is great to be able to see it. However, being charged to see every church in Palermo soon adds up, unfortunately! And while there are two other stunning churches in this piazza we only got to see this one. Tip:... More

Fairly inconspicuous from the exterior, but incredibly detailed, rich and ornate inside. Similarly to the chapel in the Norman palace you can see extensive use of expensive materials for decoration, gold, porphory, and intricate mosaic work. If you look up and towards the entrance you can see even more work in the ceiling that seems to be hidden. There is... More

This church looks nothing from the outside but it must have one of the most spectacular decorated interiors I have ever seen. Baroque gon mad! the richness of the decoration together with the sculpter and painting is just breathtaking. The ceiling frescoes and the decorated dome are class. The many alters and marble sculpters are fantastic. Not a square centimeter... More
