Interesting church

This church is situated close to the Porte Messina. I contains come interesting old statues, including a statue of St Catarina. The exterior is not very interesting.

Yep, it's actually considered a Basilica by whoever decides those things. It's been very well preserved and is incredibly built. There are signs around the church in a variety of languages explaining things about it, which we liked. The marble pillars are massive and 4 of the 6 are monolith, meaning they were cut out of one solid piece of... More

as Duomos go, this one is quite small. Very quaint. Saw a number of brides leaving the church when in Taormina. Very picturesque.

This is a nice church, duomo as they call it, but in my opinion it doesn't have anything resemblance with the other domes (for example Milan which is impressive). Anyway in Taormina, the streets are the nicest thing and this duomo arises like an atraction, so of course you will take a few pictures from the outside and inside also... More

Interesting and takes only a few minutes. Would have been more impressed if we had not just done a lengthy tour of the churches in Rome....

This is a very pretty church located at the main square. It is a pleasant break from the tourist shops.

We saw two local weddings while we were visiting. Obviously this church is part of the local community. Nice to see

My brother's wedding ceremony took place in this beautiful church, which is located on the Corso Umberto in Taormina. The venue was simply stunning; vibrant stained glass, cool classical marble and exquisite wall frescos. It made a special day even more memorable.

a stark and beautiful stone interior with pink marble columns, and a polyptych from the 16th c. that is haunting.
