Concert Recital
Nov 2019 • Couples
Last night we attended the Teatro San Giorgio in Taormina for a concert recital of operatic solos and duets by Soprano Claudia Ceraulo and Tenor Davide Benigno, who sang with enormous skill and passion. They were accompanied by pianist Antonio Gennaro who played with great sensitivity and panache. The concert was enjoyed enthusiastically by a large audience who were treated to a glass of Prosecco on the terrazzo overlooking the sea during intermission. All in all a charming evening, which I believe will be repeated with different programs every Wednesday over the winter and more frequently in the high season. Bravo!

Fun Night!
Nov 2019
Fun night to listen to opera in Taormina. The singers were good and the atmosphere was perfect. I enjoyed listening to the pianist, he was amazing. The intermission on the deck overlooking the piazza was a real treat.

Italian Opera Taormina
Nov 2019 • Friends
This was a wonderful performance of well known Italian arias! The trio included a soprano, tenor and pianist. At the end, the audience was so delighted the trio did three more pieces that were extra animated and came down to the audience to make it especially intimate and fun! The acoustics were great and voices excellent!! The pianist was marvelous! We sat in the front row left so we could see pianist’s hands.

Enjoyable evening
Oct 2019
We really enjoyed our evening at the opera at the Teatro San Giorgio in Taormina.
The company performed a selection of popular standards from several operas including: Madame Butterfly, the marriage of Figaro and the barber of Seville.
The emphasis is very much on fun and entertainment; if you are new to opera, this would provide a very good introduction.
It’s also great value at 25 Euros per ticket which includes a glass of Prosecco on the terrace overlooking the square in the interval. Seating is unreserved so I would advise arriving early to get a good seat.

A shambles
Oct 2019
This was an extremely poor experience, we attended on time and managed to find a seat, scores of seats were already reserved for large parties and many end up on hard plastic chairs in the aisles. The whole show was "hi-jacked" by a Chinese television company who were recording some king of special programme so our enjoyment was ruined by large intervals untranslated Chinese monologue. The singers were just ok too, the Soprano was good, the tenor was appalling. A complete waste of money. We should have been told in advance of this filming thing, that we would have avoided it.

A night at the opera
We were not sure what to expect and were a little concerned that this might be too heavy for us, not being particularly well versed in opera, but how pleased are we that we did it! This is a thoroughly charming evening from start to finish. The artists are talented, professional and entertaining and the Prosecco break on the terrace , with the spectacular views, only added to the charm . Be prepared for moments of spine tingling at the voices and don’t hesitate to do this.

Great way to spend an evening!
Oct 2019
I enjoyed the heart felt performances of soprano Carmen Salamone, tenore Davide Benigno and pianist Antonio Gennaro on a recent visit to Taormina, Sicily.
The venue is small, no fancy costumes, no orchestra, no choir, just a soprano, tenor, a piano player and the love of their art. Enjoyable!
At intermission, we were provided a drink and a nice view of a Taormina Plaza.
We were given three additional duets after the official program ended.
The singers and songs change, so I don't know who you will see or hear.
A unique and rewarding experience.

Encore!
This was my first experience with a live opera. Without going big on a potentially big ticket price in a large city, this program gives you a taste of classic operas for a very reasonable 25 euros. You'll be familiar with a few of the tunes even if you are an opera novice. Within the show, which was less than 90 minutes, you're treated to a intermission drink (last night was spumante or water), and a couple of encores. Enjoyable night. Tips:cash only, get a reservation from your hotel. It wasn't packed but I'm sure it could be. I'd say 80% of the 140 seats were occupied.

Embarrassing Experience
Oct 2019 • Friends
Was enjoying the Italy in Voice Sicily Opera on Monday and decided to visit Italian Opera Taormina for tonight. There is no announcement regarding about visual recording wasn't allowed in the Opera. I was recording some of the song without knowing audio recording not allowed as I'm allowed to record the footage at the Italy In Voice Opera without any problems. At the last part of the session I've been harassed by the staff by taking my picture at every corner and then came talked to me in Italian. Feel like I'm the criminal by recording the audio. If I'm doing something wrong she should've come to me and tell me recording the audio is not permitted. She shouldn't taking my picture at every corner. The experience is really embarrassing and I'm not recommended this Opera at all. For my opinion Italy In Voice Sicily is much better than this Opera. Stay away if you can. I'm regretted to visit this Opera with such bad customer service. Go to Italy In Voice Sicily if you wanna recording and better performance compared to better advertising.
