Avoid buying wine from this shop!
Feb 2019 • Couples
I was on a day trip to Taormina from Catania and went into this shop which sells wines and other foods. I was looking for some memorable wines to bring home and asked if they happened to stock some of them. Eventually there was one on offer - a bottle of Tenute delle Terre Nere Prephylloxera Etna Rosso. Little did they know that I had done much research on the average price to be expected. The bottle was charged twice the average price at 120 euros. Since it was our last day in Sicily and I just wished to pack a memorable wine, I settled the cost. The queer thing was they could not offer a receipt, which was more than expected on afterthought. People looking to buy wines should stay away from this dishonest shop!

My first and the best canolo in Sicily!
Jun 2018 • Couples
When visiting Sicily, one can't skip trying the canoli. Visiting the lovely town of Taormina, we stopped to try them here. I liked mine so much that I came back for another the same day! The ones I tried in our 12-day vacation in Sicily haven't been that delicious.

Spectacular artisanal pasticceria!!!

The great confectioneries, that taste as good as they look. The chocolate covered orange peel is THE BEST I have EVER eaten, ANYWHERE!! And it is reasonably priced. The chocolate covered nougats are wonderful also. The shop has other foods and wines from Sicilia. But they make by hand, in the store, all the candies, and pastries. That is the stand out for the shop. They are just lovely to the customers.

Not great value
Sep 2016 • Couples
Although we have enjoyed the Etna wines very much while we have been at restaurants, we had trouble finding a wine shop that had a good selection--until we went to Taoromina. The woman was very helpful in advising us about making our selections, but we were a bit disappointed when we got back to our hotel and opened the bottles. We had paid quite a bit less for bottles in restaurants (say 22 euros a bottle) for wine we liked better than what we got here where we paid about 30 euros or so (we had high expectations given the price). Cute shop, lots of selection, and very helpful.
