Our group of four joined six other guests for a fun, entertaining and educational evening, one of the true highlights of our Tuscan vacation. Chefs Allesandro and Nicolo divided the class up into smaller groups and dove right into explaining how to prepare our recipes correctly. They took into account some food allergies and really bonded with the class. Our... More

My own culinary efforts generally result in a series of ambitious disasters, so when traveling abroad with a Rick Steves' tour of Italy, I was delighted that the tour included an opportunity of a cooking class & that the burden would not rest squarely on my shoulders. Our group of roughly 25 Americans ambled in & once we were suitably... More

Was really looking forward to this cooking experience. In Tavola is a bit hard to find and once there you are seated at a large picnic type table while you wait for others to arrive. Then all of a sudden you are supposed to have clean hands and be ready to start cooking. Very unorganized chefs - we had 2... More

We went to the Monday night class for the four course dinner and enjoyed it so much that we went back for the Saturday pasta class. We enjoyed both and will definitely use several of the recipes. Alessandro was our instructor both times and he was fabulous!

My husband and I took the evening class on Oct 18. I like to cook so was really looking forward to the class. There were a total of 18 people in the cooking class, mostly couples along with 2 families, 1 with younger children We made an eggplant appetizer, ravioli, chicken cacciatori, and tiramisu. I've never made any of these... More

This is a fun evening experience for the average cook. We met at a square a few blocks from the cooking studio, were escorted there. Initially it appeared that the organization was a bit chaotic, but one they settled in, got everyone divided into groups of 4-5 around various kitchen islands the process flowed more smoothly. They had one professional... More

We were there with the Rick Steves tour best of Venice, Florence and Rome. This was a great bonding experience with our guide, tour group and the Chef's. We made a 3 course meal with a great menu. After making the meal we all conversed under the school to the wine cellars and had the meal. Could not ask for... More

The day course I did really was superb. Walter is very knowledgable and engaging and a brilliant chef. The market tour was great, the tastings were really varied and the ingredients you cook with are actually bought fresh from market that morning. The other people on my course were great and we had a very relaxed meal at the end.... More

The chef was an amazing host and teacher. His teams of cooks were also very friendly and funny. They made jokes with us and laughed with us, but were also very thorough. The kitchen was nice and quaint. There are a total of about 20 people in the class. We made ravioli from scratch, chicken cacciatore, chocolate mousse, and eggplant... More

Chef Alessandro was the star of this show! With expert confidence and culinary skill, the charisma of a seasoned entertainer, the expert instructing skill of a master teacher, and the flair of a matador, Alessandro led a room bursting at the seams with eager students through an entire four course dinner. What a joyfully delicious evening!! Chef Palo played a... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
