We had been to,d by everyone we could visit this church anytime, free of charge. The day we arrived, we thought we would go on across the Ponte avec bio to the Palazzo Oitti and this church and the Chappelle Brancacchi. Pit to had a line that looked like it never moved, the Spirito was closed and the Chappelle was... More

A nice place to dine solo, unpretentious and also frequented by locals. There are quite a few options of bars and trattorias and the locals are trendy and fashionable, so a good "people watching" spot.

Great restaurants and not nearly as crowded as many other piazzas. Since it's a few minute walk away from the Duomo area it's less crowded. Food prices are also less expensive. It's located near the Pizzi Palace and the Boboli Gardens

We stayed near here, so this was our village. Good restaurants, daily fruit and veg market. Busy but not knock-you-over busy. Consider staying, visiting in the area across the Arno.

This was such a respite from crowds every where. It was a very peaceful plaza with a beautiful church. I truly enjoyed this piazza. There are stores and restaurants close by but they don't feel intrusive as the do in some of the other piazzas.

It has a great food market and so many options. You don't need to go to restaurants. This is the best way to eat amazing local food.

We ate and drank outside. A market was going on at one end of the piazza and parents with their dogs were everywhere. Very happy and lovely place to take in Florence.

Go grab a beer and a pizza and sit on the steps of the church, it will be a life changing experience. I loved every moment I sat on the steps and enjoyed the slow paced life that exists there in Florence. Life is truly lived there.

This is a friendly, bustling square, very unlike the more formal piazzas on the other side of the river. It's the beating heart of Oltrarno, surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants that are open late and likely to have a farmers market at midday. It's one of the few places where real Florentines are not outnumbered by tourists.
