Our tour guide was Mateo and he took 8 of us on on a tour of eating & wine tasting in the Chianti & Chianti Classico Region. Our first stop was Fattoria Carzono E Paterno Winery, we had a short tour of the winery and then were able to taste their cheeses, bread,Honey & a delicious green tomato chutney paired... More

We did the Wine Time tour on a Tuesday in early March. I had quickly researched different tours and picked this one based on reviews and time of the tour (we felt five hours was the perfect amount of time given all we wanted to do while in Florence). Also, we are definite novices when it comes to wine, but... More

After 10 days in Italy, my 18-year old son and I had had enough art and were ready for something very different. On the final day of our Rome/Florence trip, I booked the Super Chianti tour with Grape Tours. By far this 8 hour excursion/max of 8 people was the highlight of our Italy trip. Our guide, Pierre shared his... More

Then this is the place for you..let me explain. We did the 8hr super chianti tour which consisted of 2 vineyards, small stop in the town of Greive and a butcher shop. Plus amazing views of Tuscany! We start off meeting at Tuscany in a bottle where met our host and guide for the day, Tom. Super knowledgeable and in... More

We did the Super Chianti tour and it was so much fun. Asa was an amazing guide, very informative and good company! We visit 2 wineries, the first we tasted cheese, wine and olive oil tasting which was interesting. We then moved on to the 'crazy butcher' where we ate gorgeous food and tried some very strong grappa! We followed... More

During our stay in Florence in March of 2017 we took the Super Chianti 8hr tour and it was wonderful! Our guide Mateo was knowledgable, funny, and made it a great experience. The food and wine was delicious and the views were wonderful. Definitely more wine tasting then olive oil tasting but that was fine with us. The only downside... More

Owner/ tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a great deal about chianti and red wine tasting. The fresh cheese at the winery and the meats from the "mad butcher" made the whole experience unforgettable.

We had a blast on our Super Chianti tour, lead by Katherine. It was definitely one of our favorite parts of our trip to Florence. The vineyards were welcoming and informative with an emphasis on production and tasting the wines. We had the opportunity to purchase wines but never felt pressured at all. We loved our lunch at the crazy... More

My friends and I just completed our tour with Tom, our tour guide. I have so many reasons to recommend this experience. They accommodated us last minute. They handled our group's vegetarian wonderfully. Everything was set to our pace, never being rushed along. The wine, olive oil, cheese (really everything) were delicious. Everyone we encountered were wonderful as well. Tom... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
