This was an awesome day of culinary fun. The instruction was first class and we learned so much. My only criticism is that the description was not quite as accurate as it could be. Firstly, there was no market visit, we went directly to the cooking class. I'm not sure why that was. Secondly, I feel "Tuscan Farmhouse" implies something... More

My 21 year old son and I took the Vintage Vespa tour of Tuscany with Angel and it was incredible! The scenery was spectacular and the Vespas were a blast! It was a wonderful way to see the beautiful Tuscan countryside in 4 hours and have a delicious, relaxing lunch too! Angel was patient and knowledgeable and funny - everything... More

Our family of four (kids aged 11 & 13) loved this driving tour of the Tuscan hillside in the Fiat 500 version of the family wagon. There was plenty of room for the four of us to ride comfortably. My husband and I took turns at the driving and delighted in the novelty of it. We attracted plenty of attention... More

As the title suggests, we had a wonderful time on the Best of Tuscany Tour, thanks in part to the charming tour guide, Elisa. Full of information and with a good sense of humor, she "herded cats" -- 40 tourists -- all day through four lovely locations. We saw Siena, had a yummy organic lunch at a Chianti vineyard, then... Our cooking adventure started at the Walkabout Tour office in Florence. Our guide and chef, Isak, took us on a walking tour of the market to get the ingredients needed for our days cooking class. On the way, Isak gave a running commentary of the buildings in the area. it was very informative. Once we gathered what we needed, we... More

If you want to see a lot of the Tuscany area in one day, this trip fits the bill. Tour guide was excellent and made the trip interesting. The only thing that would have made it better is if the bus could drop us off closer to the sites and then go park. With limited time in each area, this... More

The Farmhouse Cooking Class tour done by Walk About in Florence, Italy was an excellent experience! The food we cooked was delicious, with wonderful recipes to make at home. The setting couldn't have been more idyllic in the hills above Florence. The farmhouse is beautiful. Isak and Carmella allow you to feel very at home and create a fun and... More

I was originally a bit wary of doing a vespa ride outside of Florence but my wife convinced me it would be fun and she was right!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, we wanted to drive the Fiat and the Vespa so Matteo said we could take the fiat up to the restaurant ( fabulous by the way) then... More

Had a great experience with Walkabout and their Cinque Terre hiking tour. A few highlights below: 1. Freddie our tour guide - was very knowledgeable about the site, region, culture and history but also entertaining and humours with his delivery. 2. Personal feel - we were a small group, Freddie was very attentive to all guests and learnt everyone's name.... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
