I visited here a year ago and I thought of going to see this place as it is an old building that has a good history from being a prison at some point in the past.

So much amazing history in this one building, as well as the surrounding area. If you want to learn, and view, and take in hundreds of years of Art, culture, & knowledge of Florence and Italy, you can find so much here. Plus there is a traditional parade that takes place almost daily in from of Palazzo Vecchio. Restaurants, banks,... More

The palazzo is lovely by day and gives you great opportunity to study all the masters statues, but by night with the dramatic lighting and music and people it is enchanted.

We visited several times while in Florence. A great place to grab a coffee, glass of wine, or a bite on the street. Also, the culture is evident via the sculpture as well as Gucci museo

After recommendations for this tour, we booked tickets at the museum's website, which was simple and convenient. The tickets were received via e-mail, which also provided clear instructions for the tour meeting point. We were greeted by an energetic and friendly tour guide. The guide kept our attention the entire tour with excellent insight in the history of the palazzo... More

Highlight of our time on Florence. Guide(sorry didn't catch his name but he was also the actor who plays Arnolfo De Cambio in an alternative guided tour in Florentine Italian) was clearly an expert in his field of Iconography - he was informative without being boring or condescending keeping all ages on our tour engaged. Although not the Dan Brown... More

We took an english tour of the Palazzo Vecchio. Our guide was an American art student who provided a great history of the building, its art, and the inhabitants. The tour came with a special peek into the annex behind the map room, where Bianca Capello (mistress and eventual wife of Francisco I) could listen in on the activities in... More

It was a long queue to buy the ticket but none to enter so afford your ticket online (Museum, Tower and archaeological museum are sold separately or combined) The tower was closed because it was raining. It's the main place where Inferno movie was turned on and you can find there the Dante Mask

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
