Started in the 16th century by Dominican friars, this is more like a museum than a perfume shop since it stocks an awesome range of perfumes, herbal elixirs and soaps based on, of all things, vinegar.

I had previously bought some of the SMN pot pourri in both Bologna and Lucca but on a very brief visit to Florence, decided to hunt out the shop. I've never seen - or smelled - anything like it. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and...More

Expert and fabulous attendants were able to provide a wonderful service to a novice like me, who cannot describe what she likes in a scent. I was guided through the heady process to select two seductive and unusual scents....thank you.

It was hard to find, even with all the hints and directions on Trip Advisor. Worth it though as very beautiful inside and free to enter. I wanted to buy something but the attendants really are aloof and you can't touch or try anything without...More

I loved this place. This is not just a perfume shop, it was the first pharmacy in Florence (if I remember well) and it is, in its entirety, a work of art! You definitely need to check it out if you are in Florence!

Beautiful place to visit, rich in history, and wonderful product. The store can be easily missed from the street. Some of the sales lady is a bit snobby. The price of perfume are reasonable $90 euro, so not as expensive as Neiman or saks. Or...More

This is a beautiful building with really great products, over priced products but of excellent quality. When you enter, you are not overwhelmed by the cloying fragrance of many perfumeries, but it is so pleasant. That is where it ends, try to get service, or...More

There is nothing average about this place but I just don't know how to rate it. The pharmacy is truly spectacular when you look at the architecture and the artwork. We came here because it's the oldest functioning pharmacy in the world. The people working...More

If you love perfume and tradition you must visit here! Also bathroom toiletries and in the pharmacy area are old medicines as first devised hundreds of years ago. Rose liqueur is amazing.

A friend recommend that I take my girls there. The place was beautiful inside and smelt amazing. That's where it ended. The ladies working all the stations were not helpful and I would go so far to say rude. No need to stop here. You...More

Our tour guide took us there and we were not disappointed. As we entered it was not impressive but the place went on and on. It is apparently the oldest pharmacy in the world and I wouldn't challenge that claim. It is well-preserved and still...More
