It wasn't a planned visit - just my husband didn't bring any gloves with him and it turned rather cold in November, so a local recommended us this place right by the Ponte Vecchio on the Oltrarno side. The shop is very small and sells only gloves, but there's a huge variety! Most of them are classic designs, but the... More

Stopped in this tiny shop across the street from the Ponte Vecchio on our way to the Pitti Palace. Service was great as was the glove selection.

When we entered Madova Gloves, the shop was so crowded. I thought it would take forever to be served, but before I knew it, it was my turn to be treated like royalty. The special little cushion is placed on the counter for you, then you place your elbow on it, hold up your hand, the experts size you up... More

This tiny shop is the ultimate in service. Your salesperson decides on your glove size, puts a pillow on the counter for you to place your elbow on and then begins to fit on you the selections you have made. I bought a pair of apple green cashmere lined gloves and they are perfection. Surprisingly reasonable prices for the exceptional... More

With so many leather good on offer in Florence, I used trip advisor reviews to help me select this shop and I was not disappointed. I had to wait in line, but the shop assistants were very efficient and my turn came around quickly. With one look at my hand, the assistant told me my size and produced exactly what... More

We had been in here before and seen the quality of their gloves. The sales person who waited on us was a lovely lady and showed several options for what we wanted. I ended up buying a dark blue/cashmere lined pair for myself and a black cashmere lined pair as a gift for our son for Christmas. Great place which... More

This is a small shop & was busy when we arrived. There was 2 saleswoman working. We were next in line when a gentlemen walked through the door to start his shift & immediately waited on us. He looked at my hand & knew what size glove I would wear. I told him what I was looking for & he... More

We wanted to buy Florentine gloves as gifts and were confronted by many shops along the main thoroughfares .We were recommended this shop by the concierge of our hotel and what a wonderful shop. The salesperson was wonderful giving us ideas and the selection ( both classic and trendy styles) and quality was great! If you're looking for gloves of high... More

I read about this shop on TA while reading shopping suggestions. My daughter and I headed here as soon as we go to Florence. We enjoyed walking across the crowded Ponte Vecchio with all the shops. The shop was small and reminded me of ones I'd been in as a child where a saleswoman behind a counter brough out things... More

Not one to compromise on quality, I asked a few locals where to find the best gloves in Florence; the answer was always Madova. The pair I ended up getting were mid brown, cashmere lined and give new meaning to the term "fits like a glove". I was more than happy with the price tag of €53. The location: Found... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
