This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Gorgeous sunsets and panoramic views of the city from this location, don't miss it. It gets crowded so get there early. And there are a lot of steps to get up there so keep that in mind.

Took the number 12 bus from the station which took about half an hour - journey back was much longer. We arrived a little before sunset and enjoyed the fabulous views of Florence and then watched the city light up before heading to San Miniato....More

Good to combine with a visit to the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens as it’s not a long walk from the gardens.

This place definitely offers the best views of the remarkable city of Florence. The square is populated with several souvenir stands as you might imagine. One of the best things is that, if there's space left, you can park your car right on the square...More

Wonderful views of Florence! I had a magnificent view at sunset. The crowd was manageable (Tuesday afternoon). The walk up the stairs wasn't the easiest, if walking is difficult or you don't want to climb many stairs, take the bus up.

Quite a way from the centre, but well worth the climb to the top. The view over the city is stunning.

The access is not the easiest due to the hilly streets, but worth every step! The view over the city is magnificent, especially at sunset. Drinking, eating and souvenirs facilities close by.

An absolute must do in Florence. Don't be tempted to skip it due to the long walk...it is absolutely worth it when you arrive and take in the amazing view of Florence and tuscany in the background. It was cloudy and cold while we were...More
