It is easy to get to and not too far to walk from either the Ponte Vechio side or from the Duomo but use a map but the layout was fantastic and you should incorporate a visit to the Church. Ticket office is behind the...More

Nice big open space and while I was here there wasn't many sellers. I would like to see more shops that aren't leather though.

The focus should be the Basilica but the Square is a great place to relax a little, take pictures of the Basilica, perhaps buys something from a local artist, get coffee or lunch.

On a day excursion in December from our cruise ship Viking Star docked in Livorno we took the 90-minute bus ride to Florence. As our tour guide pointed out, this was “a day in Florence” NOT “Florence in a day”! Many of the historic sites...More

Perhaps this is just a seasonal thing. But if you're in the area in Dec 2017 this is worth going. There interesting street foods and things to shop. We had a Rosti with cheese and ham, then some goulash with sauerkraut. Nice!

We sat in this Piazza while looking at Santa Croce Church. The square had a little Flea Market going on with food, souvenirs, etc. A nice place to relax, eat and people watch while in Florence.

A quaint stop off point. Pizza, ice Cream and every kind of drink you may be looking for. If you happen to walk by, I am sure you will pause.

With the beautiful Basilica as the backdrop this large Piazza is good but with a bit of shade & seating (not just the restaurants) it would be perfect ! We sat on the Church steps with many others , had a cold drink and watched...More

Wonderful place to relax or stroll depending on your mood. Shops surround the piazza where you can buy cheap souvenirs or expensive gold jewelry.

Yes. There's a Taxi stand just in front of the square. But it's only a five to seven minute walk.
