Acclaimed since 1996 for our great guides and tours, we offer the original, small-group Best of Tuscany tour, as well as wonderful guided tours of Florence, Venice, Rome and the Cinque Terre. Our tours are high-quality, entertaining, informative and fun! We love sharing Italy on a more personal level and with our small group sizes, we refuse to make you feel like a tourist. Our highly-qualified guides are passionate, have a sense of humour and enjoy bringing history to life. They include historians, aristocrats, wine makers, art sleuths, well-known journalists, guide writers, as well as talented artists and authors. What’s more, we are an ASTA approved, fully-licensed tour operator. We promise we are anything but ordinary, and we guarantee we are the Original & Best.

I can't say enough great things about the 3 tours we did in Florence. We booked the Rick Steves Florence in a Day or Two Tour and since we only had one day we ventured out and did all 3. The walking tour was guided by Brenda and she was just fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and also had such... More

My wife, her cousin, and I did the "Florence Tour in One Glorious Day" 10 days ago. Our guides, Claus and Tatiana were terrific. The tour groups were small and well organized. The pace is quick but you get to see many of the famous sights of this beautiful city. The first part was a walk through the historic center... More

Great job by Ismael showing us the sights and providing the background story and history to help explain and understand what we were viewing. Great value for money compared to trying to read up on it and lead yourself. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter.

We took the 2 hour tour of the Uffizi in Florence and thoroughly enjoyed it. Loredaua was our guide and provided fascinating insight and historical perspective to the art we viewed. The tour was filled with art history that helped me appreciate the historical period as well as the artistic perspectives. While some on the tour would have preferred to... More

Our tour guide, Elisabetta, did a wonderful job of sharing information and doing so in a very interesting manner. She was extremely knowledgeable about Florence and the history. She also gave us wonderful recommendations for lunch and gelato, and she was spot on!!

We had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Hilda was fantastic! Learned so many interesting things about the city and they were so helpful to find us a nice place to have lunch that was not full of tourists.

We did the Florence in One Glorious Day package, which was three tours all in one day. I think most people split up the tours onto different days, but doing it all at once worked out well, even while bringing our one-year-old baby along. The guides were very knowledgeable, bringing the city and pieces of art to life. They added... More

The attraction of Italy is obvious. The aim of every traveller is to feel and live this wonderful country like an Italian. We did two tours with Artviva whilst in Florence, one the 'Walking Tour of Florence', the other 'The Uffizi Gallery Tour'. Both were excellent. Our guide for the walking tour was Barbara, she was Florentian and her passion... More

My husband and I did two ArtViva tours last Saturday, the first to the Uffizi and then to the Accademia to see David. The group was pleasantly small and the guide was exceptional - she had a great sense of humor and was so insightful about the art works and the whole history and culture of Florence that we came... We were a group of eight friends in Florence for the Original Tour and David. Elizabeth was our guide. She was excellent. We particularly valued the glimpses down ancient lanes, her depth of historical expertise, her stories that brought to life the feelings of the long-dead, and her obvious love of the city and its art. We are very appreciative.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
