This picture, alas, does not show the Torre Guinigi which is a mediaeval tower at the top of which there are four oak trees. If you brave the climb you get a spectacular view of Lucca and the surrounding countryside.

Torre Guinigi is integral to the understanding of the long and diverse history of Lucca. It is not only an insight to the display of power in Renaissance Italy but is also a museum of the Guinigi family. Missed by most people only looking for...More

This tower is hard to get a profile view from outside. But The climb was easy for an average person - contrary to some postings on this site? The view from the top is great.

A unique vantage point with trees atop the tower, it is hard work to reach the top but worth the effort!

Nice tower in the central of Lucca. It only costs 3,5€ to get in and the stairs are easy to walk. Remember to take exact amount of cash, as they "claim" not to have change.

Unfortunately, i was unable to climb to the top, due to a fear of heights. The first 5 sets of stairs are an internal stairwell... But as you get to the top, the stairs shift to hanging off the side of the interior walls of...More
