Came here to see the old hospital but found ourselves lost amongst the old artefacts in the museum. You get an audio guide for free, but check it works we had to return twice!! The museum/hospital is badly signed so you have no idea where...More

One relaxed place to go to and feel the old treasures and history of Siena. Paintings, architecture, sculptures... its all there. The relaxed way things are on display give the welcome feeling of intimacy.

The museum was interesting in parts. Seemed to be displays being rearranged or set up. The section about the recent earthquake in Umbria was very interesting

This is a must for any visitor to Siena. Extraordinary. A class act of a museum. I take groups to Siena and this is always at the top of the list. No one is ever disappointed in Museo Archeologico.

The architecture is superb. The views from the Duomo overlooking the valley make the climb worthwhile. This is one of the can't miss things to do in Siena.

We went to visit this museum with a local guide who had actually been born here when it was the hospital. The hospital was built over the underground city, most of which was medieval and built over the Roman and Etruscan cities. It really helped...More

For the price of seeing the old hospital that served Siena for centuries, one can also visit the museum of archeology and see the Etruscan artifacts but you must be prepared wander in this miraculous old building. If necessary, just follow the uscita signs in...More

**about 50% of the rooms on the map are closed - Very poor lighting with very few worthwhile pottery pieces. Some Roman eroded/damaged marble cremation internment urns and containers - basically for school field trips

If you're interested in ancient Siena, this is a great expedition (pun intended - as in archeological expedition). For 9 euros for all areas of the museum, the price is reasonable. We spent an hour before lunch and plan to return after for more. It...More
