I returned to Castellucio again this summer for a long hike in the surrounding hills. It was the bank holiday weekend, so a tad busy. Notwithstanding that, you will always find a place to park, just requires a bit of patience. The town is magical...More

Returned this year at the end of June - hoping to see the fields of lentils in full bloom - almost! Fields of poppies dotted with blue and white were stunning. Stop on the road and admire the view of Castellucio in the distance -...More

We were passing Castelluccio on the way from San Benedetto to Perugia. Took the road which goes on foot of the Monte Vettore. Driving there is obviously a fun, and requires 100% attention all the time. After passing by the mountain, we've got spectacular view...More

Remote village north of Norcia in the mountains where legumes grown in the valley. Recently revisited after our first visit several years ago in the springtime. Each season is vastly different. Wonderful to watch the sheep and shepherds. Excellent for hiking.

You have to come here at a right time, when all the flowers are in bloom, probably from the beginning of May till August. If you do come, you will be shocked by the beauty, fields and fields of poppies, chamomiles and other flowers. It...More

The drive from Montemonaco to Castelluccio is spectacular, through green verdant mountains, winding through small hamlets and then into the higher, more arid zone where the mountainsides are dotted with sheep and wildflowers. The final valley of Castelluccio is the celebrated view one sees on...More

End of July is the perfect time to visit Castelluccio - all the colour are vivid and flourishing! A perfect place to walk on a plain surface - rare thing in Monti Sibillini ;-)

Hi, I'm planning to visit the place in around 20th of April. Please recommend if this is a good time to visit and if I would be able to catch a glimpse of this spectacular view. Also if anyone else is travelling during the same period, I would be happy to accompany or be accompanied. Thanks in advance. -- Warm Regards, Nitin,

Hello, When you visited the area in August, were the flowers still in bloom? I will be in the area starting August 13 and wonder if I will still be able to see the flower fields. Thanks for any help you can offer! :) Angela

Hi i suggest u to come in July, for beautiful flower fields, also if it's very chaotic, too much traffic. Maybe August can be better for less people.
