Immens, big, people, altars. This sanctuary Embraces the Porziuncula. Big enough and still a meditative athmosphere when the franciscans are around to guide the crowds.

This is a huge church. Reputed to be the 7th largest Christian place of worship on earth. For a small town like Assisi, that is really something. There were long lines to enter, and security was tight. Surprisingly, I found security much tighter here than...More

Church harbouring smaller chapel. The church itself has beautiful ceiling paintings as well. Much more modest decorations compared to basilica San Francisco but still very beautiful.
