After being unable to walk the ancient aqueduct in Genoa, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to do so here in Perugia - with significantly easier access! From just behind the Duomo I picked up the staircase that led down to the aqueduct. I walked until the end which was practically at the doorstep of Piazza dell’Universita. Along the aqueduct I passed lovely old homes and buildings. The views from this lofty perch overlooking the ancient city were magnificent. An absolute must-do when in Perugia.

We were fortunate to be on the bridge above the aqueduct as the sun started to set. It was absolutely stunning. Then we had a very scenic walk on the house lined aqueduct as the sun faded.

If you happen to be in the neighborhood, then I think that it would be nice to walk. If you are walking down Via Cesare Battisti to the Arco, then you will get a breath taking view of the hillside with the aqua duct.

You've probably seen pictures of this beautiful lane - it is one of the most photographed in Perugia. The walk from the bottom up into the historic center is steep but so pretty. Looking downwards toward the arch that spans it is one of the best places to take a photo. Perfect for a stroll day or night.

Here we walk where water used to run, and have a splendid view of the town just above. It leads to a long flight of stairs that joins of of the small valleys and the arches vaulting the alleys next to the main square.
