Switzerland is a magical place and Val Verzasca is one of its treasures. The river that passes through the entire valley is BEAUTIFUL! It has green and blue shades, it's 100% clear and, with the canyons around it, it creates a wonderful atmosphere. Go and check it out!!!

This is a place that should be on everyone's bucket list. The scenery is absolutely breath taking. I went during August and was able to enjoy taking a dip in the river. The river was a crystal clear and the water was FREEZING. If I had to take a guess the water was approximately 40 degrees or less, however it... More

I was there with my partner last month, was in awe of the place. It was like a magnet. Every inch of the place was magic. Despite my crutches, I managed it all in my own time. If you have not been, please GO.

The canyons filled with blue and green water are magical, and the little villages are so picturesque. Great place for a simple to medium difficulty hike. Only downside was the crowd of people at the bridge of Lavertezzo - apparently we arrived at the same time as several school trips at once - rowdy teenagers playing music on their phone... More

We started at the Verzasca Dam and drove through the valley. Found some great stopping places where we could clamber down to the river where there are lots of rocks and stoney areas to have a rest or a impromptu picnic by the water. The water is beautiful - crystal clear and a bright azure colour. Hiking would be great... More

One of the most beautiful natural sites on the planet Earth. The green water is mesmerising and cold cold cold. The Roman bridge is a must see and if you are daring enough a bongy jump from the river dam is something special.

We lived in a hotel in Ascona. But to miss such a beautiful place as the Verzasca valley, even there could be no question! To get to this valley by car about 20-25 minutes. The road is very beautiful, it passes by the dam on the Verzasca River. I recommend to go in the morning until the road is heavily... More

My husband and two teenagers just finished a trip to Lavertezzo in Valle Verzasca. We stayed in a cottage built in 1600's and it was a 10-15 hike to the river. The river and valley was absolutely stunning. We spent a day laying on the rocks on a beautifully sunny July Saturday but the river was too cold to get... More

Whether you just spend a few hours or a full day, it has it's stunning bridges, deep valleys, cold river and absolutely stunning little villages.
