The gate is not really a touring site, just a photo op, but the street leading to the gate from the marketplace is filled with one of a kind shops that make for an enjoyable journey.
This city gate is one of 3 remaining gates from the old city wall. The rest, along with the wall have been demolished. It is strikingly beautiful.
Nice gateway into the old city. Many small shops with quality merchandise and friendly shopkeepers on cobblestone streets, many places to obtain food, good access to the Rhine River.

lovely neighborhood with small unique shops to walk through before reaching the gate. Start from the Barfusseplatz, take the stairs up to the chuch and continue out towards the gate.
