Figures strike a bell on the hour which is heard throughout the town. Not something seen in the USA but in relatively few locations throughout Europe. A cool, must see event.

Impressive for its age and easy to find in the old town. They don't make them like that anymore. Worth a bisit

It has two faces, the back face tell the story of Adam and Eva after eating from the tree and getting spilled out of Aden. The front face is a great clock with beautiful colors.

in the center of the old town of bern, the swiss capital, is the clock tower, since 15th century it is showing the correct time. no electricity was there at that time and not even each and every person was wearing watch, nor there were wall ckocks for everyine in the house. before 500 years this clock was designed not... We purchased the combination ticket for a guided walking tour of Bern and a tour of the Clock Tower (30 CHF per person). We had watched the Clock Tower chime 12 noon outside on our city walk, then, after lunch, returned for the "official" tour of the tower. It was well worth climbing the 110 steps in order to see... We only had few hours in Bern as we were heading out on a train to Paris. The area around the Clock Tower is teaming with street life. We decided to take that in rather than go up in the tower, which was a little pricey given that we were in a rush.

This is a must do just to check it off your bucket list but is a bit underwhelming. We thought the clock's music and motion would last longer, very impressive for the age though and beautifully detailed!

We stopped by for a view during our walk through Old Town. I suggest going on Saturday at Noon to see the full affect of the Clock Tower. We did not go inside, but still a site to see.

This was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Switzerland. Maybe it was because we were there for a Swiss watchmaking business trip but we got to go inside and climb all the way to the top of the tower!! Very steep climbs to the top but worth the picturesque views at the top
