This castle located in the hill of Thun city and have a great view point to the city and alps. The stair from the city wall is amazing. There is a restaurant inside the schloss / castle serving Swiss local and some international/European menu. If we continue walk around the castle, we will arrive in the other side of the... More

Great views of Thun, the lake, and the snowcapped alps. Be sure to stick around for dinner at the fantastic restaurant!

I love the environmental of the Thun Castle. I arrived there around sun set so I could enjoy the beautiful sun set at the castle. You can view Lake Thun at the castle.

The castle presents a good history of the area. Each section has interesting displays, and you can climb all the way to the turrets, if you like. If you're coming with kids, you'll find some really good castle-related toys in the small gift shop.

This castle looks really impressive from the town. It is free with the Swiss Pass. The inside was ok but not great. There were artifacts from many different eras and information was available in a number of languages but there were not a lot of displays and they were spread out 5 floors so there are a lot of stairs.... We loved the castle! It's small, easily explored in an hour or two, and the view from the towers is fabulous, looking out over the old town and the lake. Definitely worth a visit!

This was the perfect way to spend part of a rainy day. The castle is very well preserved and many of the exhibits include a version in English, which is not common in Switzerland. The views from the tower are expansive, even on a cloudy day. Be prepared to walk up many flights of narrow stairs to see the entire... More

We have been for an afternoon trip to Thun and we have been quite surprised by this very very nice city especially the historical centre, we walked up to the castle that is wonderful although not clearly indicated how to reach that. We have not been inside because it was over the closure time unfortunately, but from outside it is... More

The castle is worth a visit for its history and the fact one can climb all the way into the castle towers. The view over the city and Lake Thun is worth the walk up the top. The roofing structure is interesting.
