Everything about this is perfect. We went up the mountain on the cog wheel train, so cool. Try and get the right hand side for best viewing. Super fun, and the views will leave you speechless on the journey up. If you are lucky you...More

We didn't hesitate at all to take this pricey trip, since it was included in our Tell Pass ( and plenty of other Swiss passes.) It's totally different than other high mountain trips we have done in Switzerland. We took the bus ti the start...More

No need to book a tour. Jump on the (no 1) bus To Kliens opposite the train station. Walk up the hill and buy tickets. My advice would be to arrive early to avoid the tour buses that arrive in huge numbers from 10am onwards....More

From Lucerne, it's about a 10 minute coach ride to the base of Mt Pilatus. With a combination of trams and gondolas, you'll take a quick ride to the top (about a 5000 ft climb), with a chance to take a break at the midpoint...More

We love to do the Fräkmündegg to the Pilatus hike. IF all goes well we cover the distance in slightly over 2 hours. With a larger group and frequent stops it can take a bit longer. The best part is reaching the top and enjoying...More

You could take train S5 from Lucerne Bahnhof track 14 to Alpnachstad and take the cogwheel rail car to midpoint and then walk the rest to the top. It should take about 2.5 hours to reach the top. You can then either take the... More

I went on a day where it had snowed 3 inches and we arrived about 3pm and took the last trolley back. It's worth going and enjoying what ever you get. Of course a clear day would be amazing but mother nature is unpredictable... More
