Because the view is fantastic! This one is no exception. The lake, mountains, towns... it's all there in every direction. This is the tourist thing to do in Lugano, especially on a clear day. You can hike up to the top, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are in good shape to handle it. And there is a wonderful... More

This easy to reach attraction in Lugano offers spectacular views of the Lake Cerisio, the plain of Lombardy , the Swiss alps and the Mont Bre. The bus for Lugano Paradiso terminates close to the Funiculare that takes one up the mountain. The place can be reached by a funicular ride – 2-stage actually , since there is a change... More

You can reach it by cable-railway in a 10 minutes ride. If you go up on a clear day, you can enjoy a breathtaking view all around by walking on an easy foot path: you will see the city of Lugano and its' surroundings, the lake and even the Alps. There is also a museum (free entrance) and a church.

Monte San Salvatore is a Must when visiting Lugano. It is easy to reach, take the little red train that makes a tour around the city and it will drop you where you can go to this mountain. The view is beautiful, probably one of the best in Ticino. You can have s drink or lunch , depending on your... More

A must see when visiting! We took the Funicular to the top and I was mesmerized by the amazing views. I literally felt like I was on top of the world. When you reached the top there were multiple exhibits for you to visit and soak in the sun, culture and history. We met a couple who hiked the way... More

I did a sunrise hike with my friends, it is an easy to moderate level hike! Rejuvenating, refreshing trek, there is a small church, museum and restaurant (only summer) on the top as well as a lot of open space. Nice place to do Yoga too!

Monte San Salvatore has to be viewed from all directions we foster saw this. Pints in from Campione D'Italia many years ago beautifully lit up at night and if you visit this from the top you will get spectacular views down to the lake which will blow you away

Getting up to the mountain by Funicular took some time. But when we arrived to the top we realized that it was worth every minute. One of the places with the most beautiful landscape I visited.
