Built in 1499 with frescos by Bernardo Luini , it's probably the most important visit to make while in Lugano.
Although not very impressive on the outside, it's a must for the inside. For all the fine artwork dating back to the fifteen hundreds
The artwork is beautifully restored and admission is free. Highly recommended. Restoration efforts are still in progress.
The Church of S. Maria degli Angioli is a must if you happen to be in Lugano. You will admire the Renaissance Masterpiece "Passion and Crucifixion" by the Italian painter Bernardino Luini, a disciple of Leonardo. (1480 - 1532)
The unassuming exterior of this church gives no clue of its beautiful and interesting interior. Well worth seeing.

Called in on recommendation from our Tour Manager and very glad we did. Fantastic frescos but simple church still captivates the mind on how old these paintings were.
