We couldn't actually get tickets for the chocolate train organised tour, but were told we could do it ourselves, so we did. Definitely recommend the trip and definitely recommend going it alone, as it was cheaper and more convenient to go at your own pace....More

The trip is done in a beautiful vintage train. Seats are very comfortable. The chocolate croissant and coffee/tea/hot chocolate you get shortly after leaving the train station start the trip off right! Staff are very pleasant and competent. The train kept stopping on the way...More

If you have rented a car, it would be very easy to drive to Gruyere yourself. You can do both tours separately if you have a car or a way to get there. The added bonus was the train experience as well as the views you get... More
