We went to see one of the special exhibitions, that on refugees "Flucht". This was quite well done, but the rest of the museum was rather disappointing. It was difficult to find your way around this big "bunker", the exhibitions were in some cases modest affairs, reached down long, bare corridors. It is easy to reach and not expensive, but... More

The Swiss National Museum is an outstanding history museum which one should not miss while in Zurich as it is right next to the main train station. The collection is extensive and detailed and of the highest quality!

there is a lot to see and to learn, For kids there is a detective's case, leading the family on a journey of "investigation" and discovery. The new extention is certainly an interesting building with amazing architectonial details, but it is a bit more room than content, as a museum.....

Located right next door to the main station, large museum undergoing some wider development. Helpful to learn about the swiss including the role in the major world wars and banking. The use of technology to zoom in on exhibits and english language made it engaging

Nothing as special here but good to visit once as this museum is having nice updates about history, unfortunately majority (or all) of the updates are in French but not in English. The museum is huge and is very well organized and interactive. We spent about 2-3 hours here on a very cold day. They have a good variety of displays but honestly I was more impressed by the technology used in the museum than the museum itself. Clever and innovative use of projections made some of the displays much more interesting... More

An excellent overview of the history and demographics of Switzerland. The special exhibits were also excellent. A great starting point either for a quick visit to Zurich or the start of a longer journey through the country.

There are several interesting exhibits but most of artifacts are not "wow". It worth to visit it only one time.

It is not a huge museum and it has limited exhibits, but it has a few nice things to see and get an idea of the Swiss history. It is not very expensive, only 10 CHF, so it can be a nice distraction at the end of the most popular shopping street.

I had a weekend in Zurich by myself before flying back home, so I purchased the Zurich Tourist Card which allowed me 72 hours of free public transportation and entrance to more than 50 attractions. I am all about learning the culture so I decided to spend every morning taking in the Swiss National Museum. Not sure how to say... More
