Quite fantastic collection, amazingly maintained garden. I went in autumn, which is perhaps not the best time for most plants, however, I especially loved the tropical domes, and they didn't seem to be seasonal.

I didn't have a whole lot of time here, and judging from some of the pictures, I missed at least one entire section of the garden. But it's a very nice place to go to get some quiet. There's a bit of a maze of trails going in different directions, and it was fun to explore and relax. It's not... More

A very good place to have a moment to think about live. Have a nice view and can learn about plants and flowers.

The botanical garden is part of the University of Zurich. It has seasonal plants and flowers in their prime at "their" time of the year. It is used for educational purposes, especially for elementary-age children. The garden is really peaceful, and spending time just sitting and contemplating on a nice day is worthwhile. There are three tropical greenhouses with mountain... More

A pleasant place to walk around. Probably nothing really unique. The perennial beds are a bit of a mish-mash but that seems to be the "new" style. Has a cafeteria with a salad bar. Greenhouses are standard plant habitats (the same design company must be doing all the gardens). A special exhibit on the African Violet family was quite informative.... More

Best on a sunny day, but even in the wet you can enjoy the bio-domes. Plenty of space to walk and sit and of course lots of plants and trees. For a leafy longer walk: Head up Weineggstrasse and Buchenweg to the Tram Museum and then follow the path down from just past the museum following the Hornbach river/ stream.

It's really worth to visit the garden, even in fall. It's huge with 3 greenhouses and beautiful plants.

Very worthwhile to take a pause from the city and visit this garden. Well kept and safe. Our friend's young child loved it and it was easy to navigate with a stroller. Definitely a good spot!

The Botanical Garden of Zurich is a hidden gem. So much to see spread out on beautiful grounds with its gorgeous architectural landscaping. Includes a café. A very interesting part of Zurich with a country side flair yet impressive villas from the late 19th/early 20th century. Well worth a visit and extensive exploration.

Great way to spend a few hours, especially on a budget at it is a free attraction. Perfect for taking the kids for a walk around the grounds where they can burn off some energy and maybe learn a thing or two. Unfortunately the information plaques are all in German but it there are plenty of visual delights that make... More
