This wonderful side of the city is the perfect combination between the modernity of a perfect European city and the beauty of the lake and the landscape. The perfect moment of the day to better appreciate it si the sunset, when colours and shades are exalted by the sun.

The upper-Eastern bank of Lake Zurich is most popular during the warm, summer and fall months. There is the large green space near Zurihorn that is very active during the warm season. You will find swimmers, sunbathers, and a beach, entertainers, summer cinema, boat dock, the Chinese Garden, art work, restaurants, several museums and cafes nearby. There are sunny and... More

Must do especially for travellers on a short visit and want the best from Zurich, both the river and the lake are very well kept, clean and the water is literally drinkable. Most of Zurich is concentrated here, therefore if on a short visit, one can enjoy most of Zurich within 3 hours by taking a walk along the 2... More

We walked along the embankment in a nice and Sunny day. The way close to the water is very nice with different views of the Lake, a lot of flowers, types of trees and never boring. It is recommended to go all the way to the Cinema as this way different parts of the Lake and surrounding can be seen.

A great stroll along the embankment, especially if you cross one of the bridges into the old town. There are some interesting narrow streets with shops and cafes. There are lots of benches to sit at and enjoy the view.

Lovely lake with so much to see and do around it. Great restaurants and bars surround it and great for a relaxed walk. Easy access to tram network to take you as close as you like. Sham the weather wasn't better when we visited but can imagine how amazing it would be in rich sunshine.

The eastern bank of Lake Zurich, though a bit far affords some beautiful views of the city with the Alps in the distance. Best accessed from Old town area

If walking in the old town, one has an option to take a stroll near the lake. This however is a long walk, can get a bit tiring for the little ones. Not many shops/ cafes found this side either

This area offers great views of Zurich and also the mountains off in the distance. If you are out walking through the old section of Zurich then wander a little further down to the lake area.

Take time, walk and walk dome more to really see the Lake as well as surrounding areas. You just may find a little cafe but you won't see much in the way of signs, keep walking, and don't forget to say "hi" to people along the way. I have found too many people avoiding eye contact, just keep smiling, maybe... More
