Since 1876 this city park attracts visitors. At first especially from the rich villa neighborhood in which it is located, later on also from the general population of Apeldoorn. It is much smaller than the Oranje family backyard at Het Loo, but more conveniently situated on the margins of Apeldoorn' s center.

English lanscape is the dominant style of the park plan with curved paths, pondlike bodies of water, fountain, grassy lawns with beautiful flower beds and majestic tall trees. Excellent for some relaxation after in my case an exhausting cycling tour from Rotterdam 135 km away.

Oranjepark - a beautiful large city park located near the city center. A pond with a fountain, an arbor with an interesting sculpture and plenty of space to have a picnic. We enjoyed a little break here.

Orange Park is a delight to the eye during every season of the year. The vibrant colours in spring as well as the vivid autumn colours of the majestic trees during the autumn months. A place where you can sit & relax after a busy day shopping as it's not too far from the city centre or to watch your children/ grand children at play. Even the cold winter months has its own appeal especially after the first snowfall.

We enjoyed our time in this park of Apeldoorn. The central feature is the music 'temple' where various musicians entertain the audiance on certain times during the year. The park has water features, flower beds, benches and it has a wooded area with shade as well. Perfect for a leisurely stroll and/or picknick. Enjoy!

When you are looking for a place and you want to have it cheap I can advice you the following. Go to the AH (supermarket) Buy your stuff (drinks, bread or whatever) and eat it in this nice park. Most of the time there is a relaxing atmosphere and usually there is a free bench to eat your things. If you are Lucky there is some music. At this time of the year you find the "crocus" and in any other seasons other flowers are blooming except in winter. In the winterseason sometimes people are skating here.

Great place to meet up with friends, listen on summer Sunday to live music or have endless picknicks while ducks try to steal your bread. Young and old, students or working class, everyone gathers on their one selected spots to have a nice time. It feels for me as the heart of the city!

This little park is located next to a quarter called "De Parken". And this combination of a neighbourhood with most houses dated from 1900 - 1930, all of them unique in lanes with trees and other little parks might be something of interest to some people with love for architecture.
And not to forget, in summer on sundays there is a concert (14:00 - 16:00) for free,

The Oranjepark is a spacious walking park with a beautiful water feature and beautiful trees that are over 100 years old. This park was created in the second half of the 19th century on the initiative of Hendrik Chistiaan van der Houven van Oordt (1837-1901), a resident of Apeldoorn for some time and, among other things, a dike grapher, politician and entrepreneur. He owned the land on which the park was built. The Oranjepark was opened in 1874, in the presence of King Willem III. According to the inscription, a hard stone monumental bench in the park honors Van der Houven's initiative. The gracefully designed music dome in the park is a replica. The original bandstand from 1898 burned down in 1960. The current building was built in 1999 in the original style. Around the park are impressive villas, mainly 19th century or early 20th century, as well as a few public buildings. Have a great time in this attractive park! Even on a cold winter day.
