We, my brother, his family and me, decided to do something else for a change. In the past whenever we were in Apeldoorn we went to one of the familiar places.. being the Apenheul, Palace 't Loo or amusement Parc Juliana toren. This time we decided to go to the Klimbos, which is in the same area as the Apenheul (almost next to it).

You have to be atleast 7 years old, as you need to be a certain height to hold on to the robes, but we managed to get my niece in who is a bit younger. The concept of the parc is simple you have to go from one tree to then next using ropes and well their are many different ways which turned out to be lots of fun, for young and old!.

You are secured, still it is better for parents to go with their kids as in some cases they will need assistance to finish a route... there are several ones, special ones for kids and also more advanced ones.

We spent around 3 hours climbing and the kids loved it so much that we returned to do it for another day!.

It's great fun, climbing in the forest, a great outdoor adventure and a good alternative for a great day of fun!.

This was our first time going to a climbing park. We all loved it! The staff was so friendly and it was so beautiful in the forests. My daughters and I did the whole Junior track. Next time we'll try the more difficult tracks!

Visited with my 9 year old dawghter who enjoyed it very much. The downside was the attitude ( from our instructor at least ) towards non locals who needed explanation in English. Reluctantly agreed to provide only the absolute minimal instructions in English which was quite annoying.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry your instruction with our instructor wasn't what you expected! Our staff tries their best and most of our guests are Dutch, so I can understand the switch to English can be hard. However, it doesn't justify an attitude! We will address it with our employees.

Not for the faint hearted although great viewing and photo opportunities for us land lovers!
My husband climbed all areas even riding a bike 25 metres from the ground.
You are taught the safety aspects ( great English speaking guys) and assisted right up to you first zip line. The guys are available at every aspect of the course.
For the thrill seekers go and check it out in an amazing bush setting!

This park was one of the best experiences of our trip to Netherlands.
It is very well organized. The tracks are safe and loaded with thrill and fun. The park is suited for 6-7 years old (2 suitable tracks), for 10+ years old (3 more tracks) and for 13+ years old (3 more tracks) -- all measured roughly by their arm span.
Each track takes 30-45 minutes - pending on the "traffic" and after 5-6 tracks it can become tiring for the non fit...
If you have accompanying smaller kids I recommend the cute little playground just outside the park (can pass up to an hour), or for longer waits - the amazing monkey park situated at the entrance to the bigger resort (in which both parks reside in)

I went to the Klimbos with family. We never did anything like this, so we were very reluctant to go there. There are multiple courses with differeing heights. Green (2-3 meter), Blue (6 meter), Red (9 meter) and finally Black (too high). The guides explain how to safely climb into the trees. Your climbing gear has two cables, each can carry an adult. You must make sure you are always attached with at least one cable. I forgot that once, and the guides immediately shouted at me. So, nothing wrong with the supervision. You practice with the guides on a course that is 1 meter high. Once you finished it, you are free to chose any course you dare to take. You can climb down again if you do not dare to take it on second thought. It is very nice that instead of climbing poles or stone walls, you are actually climbing into real trees in the Klimbos. It is a very nice location. It was very cloudy and rainy when we visited the park, but that did not matter at all.

There are several tracks. The greatest (and most scary) is the "tokkel" baan through the forest. You will need to climb several ladders straight onto high trees and you need to ensure you are always locked (would not recommend all tracks for very young kids). The tracks are different and provide sufficient variation. After this activity you can enjoy a nice picniq in the park.
