I know some people have put negative reviews of this statue on trip advisor but I happen to like quirky and unusual things so I had to take a visit to De Kus on my stop in Apeldorn.
It is located right outside the railway station which is next to the bus station and is the profile of two faces kissing.
Makes you remember to tell people you love them.

The kiss, located near Apeldoorn railstation, is created by Jeroen Henneman who is well known for his Silhouette sculptures of metal and wood. When travelling it presents a visual memory for the question “Did i kiss my loved one(s) before i left?” And couldn’t it be placed better than in front of a railway station?

When you step off the train in Apeldoorn and leave the station for Apeldoorn center, you are sure to encounter this sculpture, this thing, called "De Kus" (the kiss). Art is sometimes what you make of it but this piece of metal defies imagination. It is allowed to close your eyes when passing this thing.

This is a nice 'statue' that is located on the railwaystation square. So if you arrive in Apeldoorn by train, you will see it automatically. As the square itself does not offer very much else, I'd surely would not recommend a detour just to see this.

I am sure that there are people who think this is such a great, romantic, lovely sculpture there is, but I am not one of them. Unless you are a nuts about sculptures, you can give it a big miss.

As a symbol of love between the current king Willem Alexander and queen Maxima this statue is been erected just outside the train station. So if you come by train - take a good look. Otherwise - I guess you can skip it unless you are deeply interested in sculptures.

This sculpture represents a kiss and was a wedding gift for our current king Willem-Alexander and queen Maxima. It functions as a meeting point near the train station of Apeldoorn. The sculpture can be easily seen from a far when you go towards the train station from the city centre.

as you can see on the picture it is a very nice statue, remembering the marriage of Willem Alexander and Maxima on 2-2-2002. The environment is also nice: based on the Veluwe: the environment in which Apeldoor is situated.

They kiss each other, but sometimes not, then we can see abstract lines against the sky.
The monumental new needle, a wedding gift from the Apeldoornse population to crown prince Willem Alexander and princess Maxima, is flaunting at the station square since 2007.
The 17-meter-high sculpture, designed by Jeroen Henneman (born 1942 in Haarlem), is a contemporary variant of the classic obelisk. The order is inspired by the needle of Pieter Puype which in 1901 by the residents of Apeldoorn was offered to Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Hendrik.
Henneman made his ultimate Kiss, a spatial drawing of stainless steel. The slim tower hurls itself elegant up, ending in an embrace in the air. A symbol of love and a beautiful memorial for the princely couple.
Posted next to the railway station, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of daily life, the picture is a meeting point. The pedestal of natural stone functions as a bank. On the station square of Apeldoorn you have a date near the Kiss, can it be more beautiful?
