If your in Groningen and you want a difference experience of the city visit this tower. You will have a view over a lot of buildings, it's just great. A must when visiting Groningen.

You can use the tower as a reference point as you can see it all over town. The BEST part of it is the carillon. There is an actual guy playing it with a very wide repertoire that is eclectic and whimsical. Probably my favorite...More

Loved the city and the people. Wish they would restore the parts damaged in the war to the original beautiful facade. Best to sit in main square and have a drink.

Groningen is THE northern city of Holland. Climbing the Martini tower gives a great view over the entire city and surrounding agricultural villages.

Very steep and numerous stairs to the top but plenty of places to stop and rest as you make the journey. Highly recommended.

It was 3 euros and it was worth the effort. the stairs are narrow but there are not too many stairs. On top of it you have the view of town and you see the giant bells and clocks.

Decided it was worth a go. The stairs do get narrower as you climb but you do get a good view of the city. It was also good to be at the top when the bell rang.
