Good museum for the standard museum exhibition of Brenda's part in the 80-years war, which was done well, though could be modernised a little. The temporary photo exhibition was very interesting indeed. A shame the local government forced the museum to merge with the MOTI, which has a very different remit

I would not recommend this museum, not if you don't understand Dutch (nothing is translated) and not if you do. Dim lit, yellowish interior, pretty depressing, not worth your time or money. It is as if time stood still and they have no resources (or interest) in updating their light fixtures and the rest of the interior, display cases and... More

Breda hosts a Photo Festival every year. This is the seventh edition of the festival. You cannot miss it if you happen to be in Breda. One of the exhibitions of the festival is at Breda Museum. There are many photographers from many part of the world exhibited and whose works are magnificent. If you are really interested in photography... More

I'm not a fan of writing negative reviews but this museum was just so impressively boring. Like some people mentioned in their reviews - there is no information in English which is pretty unusual in the Netherlands. I do understand Dutch but it did not make the museum any more exciting, neither the historical part nor the paintings. I did... More

Yesterday we drove one hour to visit this Museum ,lured by the website, showing beautiful old Netherlandish painting and sculpture. We bought our tickets and went in. First we had to make our way through several rooms full of mostly awful portraits. Then we got to an interesting exhibit on an important moment in national history. Not a word in... More

Check the website to see what they have at the time when you want to go. I know there is a permanent collection, which is great to start with. Take your time in this museum. Do not rush through it within an hour. You can see everything in one afternoon.

The collections about the history of Breda are interesting. It really gave me a sense about how people led a life hundreds of years ago in Breda. The sword, map and palace model inspired me to know more about this historical city. However, all descriptions about all kinds of collections are in Dutch. It seems that the people who run... More

This museum doesn't belong in a city like Breda. Amateuristic and boring, won't be going there again
