Busy but relaxing

Second visit here in two years, a more touristy coffee/bar shop but good atmosphere, funky lighting and in a great location.

Recommended as a good place to try special brownies or muffins at €8.50. I loved the décor (all the fairy lights and neon!) and random music, but the muffin was very dry and not at all tasty (as compared to much tastier brownies bought at Abraxas). Serves a range of drinks from freshly squeezed orange juice, apple juice and milkshakes.... More

Smokey is a large noisy and usually well crowded coffeeshop located at Rembrandt Square. The musical choice is on the rock side, with many variations. The staff was not very friendly. I would recommend a quieter and smaller place instead.

I found this place on the net before we travelled to Amsterdam. Was looking forward to trying it. Thought it was in a great location and loads on the menu. Could smoke outside and in. Not tobacco inside cos of the smoking laws. Found the staff to me friendly and safe. They check your bags on entrance. The drinks where... More

Have been to Smokey’s a few times over the years. It’s in a good area and have always found to the staff to be friendly. It can get very busy but is a nice place to chill out when it’s a bit quieter. The square has many food and drink options as well.

Probably the weirdest place I've been to. Expensive and the weirdest atmosphere. The loud music is very uncomfortable making you not want to stay longer than one drink/smoke. You can tell that it is a place expecting to have lots of tourists who are maybe a little unsure of going to a nicer coffeeshop. There are much better coffeeshops around.

Thank Katrina M
