This museum attempts to present the history and the evolution of Amsterdam. At first it was confusing to me, but that went away.It had a good history of what happened and who made it happen. Also gave an oversight to the evolution of religion in Amsterdam....More

We were told this showed the history of Amsterdam, but the signs are horrible and finding your way around to do anything in a prescribed order is near impossible. They have you walk down to exit, but then back up when we were already on...More

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam as there is lots of information about the history of the city and the culture there. You can also have an audio guide which talks you through the exhibits which is easier to take in the...More

Some interesting displays, quite informative with a free audio guide available. However some of the stations weren't working so did feel like I was missing out. The information that was given was interesting, however I did find it lacking in detail about the individuals that...More

This museum is a must see if you are a history buff. If history isn't your thing, I'd invest the time in the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. This museum provides a deep, detailed history of Amsterdam and how it grew into the international...More

The entrance fee is reasonable and the museum is worth the stop. Plan to spend about 2 hours here. The exhibits are put together well and informative. Mobile devices are provided with entrance fee and many languages are offered.

If you want to know about the origins of the city and how it grew, start here. Great displays explaining the city's history. Also a rather nice museum cafe for lunch.

Actually there wasn't an escape room when we visited. But ... as the reception person handed us the floor plan, she said "You will get lost." She was right. First and most importantly, the Museum is great! The audio tour was very helpful. Signage was...More

Nice museum with a wealth of information available however some of the stations were not functioning so we missed out on some valuable history.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

Comptez 1h30 en "survolant" l'exposition et en "courant", 2h30 à 3h00 en essayant de tout voir et en prenant le temps de discuter des différentes œuvres.
