An incredible opportunity to visit the museum while in Amsterdam. Self-guided tours (in multiple languages) makes it easy to visit the exhibits/paintings and learn all about Vincent. The multi-level museum can be seen in as short of time as an hour or you can spend...More

Buy your tickets in advance, online or through your travel agent. Even though we purchased a set time we still had to wait in line for 10 minutes or so. That said, it was well worth the wait. It is an amazingly comprehensive collection of...More

We very much enjoyed this museum! The history and art are amazing. No pictures allowed unfortunately. We would like to go back when we have more time, we could use 2 days in this museum!

I enjoyed the Van Gogh Museum because the singular subject is Van Gogh, his life, his work. It's a nice change of pace from being in museums that cover so much that you're overwhelmed. Here, you can really focus on the artist and his genius...More

Although I enjoyed our visit and would recommend it. Compared to the Rijkmuseum it falls down in a number of ways. The gallery is small and paintings are hung close together and some of the portraits on the first floor were hung upside down !...More

We visited the Van Gogh Museum on our first day in Amsterdam. It was a very enjoyable experience. I had not been familiar with his works prior so I found the visit informative as well as beautiful. I highly recommend visiting this museum!

After my visit to this wonderful museum I knew so much more about Vincent Van Gogh. The fact that he became an artist only after becoming an adult; his dedication to learning the skills necessary, his coping with insanity, and the fact that he took...More

The van Gogh has an impressive collection of his works, including some famous ones. But my favourite aspect was not seeing the 'blockbuster' works; rather, it was seeing his lesser-known ones laid out in a chronological order, allowing us to see the development of his...More

Wonderful museum, insanely busy which is inevitable. But couldn't get room to walk about there were soo many people in at one time. Should definitely invest in guided tours :-) of course the artwork was humbling and beautiful. Staff were lovely too.

It really depends on how much information you want to have about each painting. My advice is hear the intro and then move on. IMHO there's only one floor that'll take your time, but you shouldn't have to spend more than... More

I am not sure about not getting in at all. I recommend buying timed ticket in advance even 1 week for sure. You by pass any queue of any sort. Also, the queue is outside so October may be cold and wet. The Van Gogh museum... More
