The monument itself is a live version of the Rembrandt famous painting that can be seen in the Rijskmuseum . The place is plenty of bars restaurants so it's nice there to lunch or drinking a beer .

I stayed in this area of Amsterdam on my last visit. I really like Rembrandtplein because there is always something going on-- even late night during the week. It's also a little removed from the busier touristy areas and there is some awesome Indonesian food...More

Pose among the characters in Rembrandt's "Nightwatch," stop for a beer at an outdoor cafe, or a joint at Smokey's coffee shop, and you've done Rembrandtplein. Nice, but not the centerpiece of your trip to Amsterdam.

The statue is imposing and the square pleasant enough. Surrounded by cafes and eateries so a good place for a lunch break.

This square can be a bit sketchy especially at night but on Sunday they have a Modern Art Market that is very nice. Also lots of cafe's to sit at and enjoy the world going by.

significant as it is perennially popular. Whether
you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast,
shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the
Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the
Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get
lost in a moody meander and a key component to any

We stayed on a houseboat on Amstel St just beside Bar Lempicka. That was a 15 minute walk to Rembrantsplein. And Amsterdam is so flat it's easy to walk around, and it feels safe too, just watch out for trams and cyclists... More
