An amazing museum loaded with history, not only the collection, but the building itself as well. Because it was the home of the very rich ship owner who employed the world famous sailor (later admiral) Michiel de Ruiter.

Nice museum even with original plays for children and a beautiful rooftop. There is a lot to be seen about fishing, history and the sea. All aspects are available and its easy ti spend two hours without feeling bored.

This museum is disorganized. The collection is a bunch of maritime stuff that is shown throughout the building but not in easy to understand themes. Example: while walking through it you see different times lines but without a proper subject why the timeline is there....More

We weren't planning on visiting this museum, but we went through the Reptile Museum down the street quite quickly and decided to go into this one as well (always handy with the national Museumkaart). The staff, clearly volunteers, were so incredibly friendly and hospitable, sharing...More
