Very interesting. The place is interactive and you get to learn a lot about ships, oil platforms and new developments. The museum is small, and quick to visit. It is really good for children, will keep them easily entertained (also adults).

Love this museum since the 1970s. Good to see that they are really aiming to attract new generations. Good to see also what the see and ships meant for Holland

Very interesting exhibits showing different facets of the marine industry including the humble boathouses and how all of them have evolved. Don't miss the interactive games designed to let you be engineer working on an oil rig for a few hours. I spent more time...More

Some parts of the museum are fun but others are borring. We liked the interactive areas more. We were able to visite some of the restored ships as well. We felt that it wasn't properly organised in some places. It can still be a fun...More

We had only 45 minutes to visit, but it was worth going. I could imagine spending hours examining beautifully made miniature ships and learning about historical figures. I would've loved this as a kid also.

You can easily spend half a day with kids here and they will be thoroughly entertained. It is very informative and we enjoyed seeing how the people in the Netherlands live on the water. We learnt a lot. There is a lovely play area for...More

We decided to go to the Maritime Museum when we planned our trip to Rotterdam and were not disappointed. We didn't know there was an "offshore experience" but this was surprisingly interesting, even for adults. The rest of the museum was very nice as well,...More

We were about to leave Rotterdam when we decided on the spur of the moment to go in. We were very pleased with the exhibits and displays - they even take you on an oil platform exhibit and show you how it operates. The model...More

We loved the outside exhibits and even though we did not have young children with us it was fun to see them going through the boats and barges and there were some classes going on for them also.

There is a lot to see inside but for me, the big attraction were the boats outside. But bring an umbrella! And afterwards, go to the New York hotel (cab ride) for a drink.
