We visited Het Nieuwe Instituut on a blustery day. It was the perfect escape from the dreary weather. There were a number of interesting exhibits and projects for kids to watch and participate in. The gift shop is heavy on books, but not a lot...More

The ground floor expo about surfaces is an epic fail in my eyes. The booklet given out is a mess of pseudo arty pseudo haikus with no relevance discernible to the objects on display. The expo about screen savers is actually interesting. Let down by...More

We visited with a welcome card and it was €15 for two, including the sonneveld house. We enjoyed the transylvania archives and exhibition of 90s screensavers. Cafe was nice. Sonneveld house amazing.

Visited during the temporary exhibition on fashion (on for a few months more, with different sub-themes on this topic per month). The displays are very effective - including good infographics on how much wastage of materials there is. The staff throughout were friendly, approachable and...More

The building looks fabulous, but there is very little to actually see there. When I was there they had an exhibition on the history of glass, and a weird artistic feature about machines taking over the world. The main reason I went to the Nieuwe...More

There were three exhibitions on when I visited. All were of a poor standard. The place was not engaging and generally kind of flat. The building itself is quite lovely and had a really delicious (expensive) coffee out on the veranda. Go Kunstahal or Boijmans...More
