The Trompenburg gardens are an oasis in the busy urban environment of Rotterdam. You would think yourself on the countryside. The gardens and arboretum has many less known plant and tree varieties. It is within close distance of the Erasmus university and the Woudestein tram...More

What a disappointment ... I was told they don’t accept any international credit/debit cards. This is the first time when I was told this, never had any problems with other places. So just be aware if you like me don’t carry any cash.

It is somewhat out of the way when you are in Rotterdam center, admiring the modern architecture, but you should take a 10 minute tram ride (tram 21 or 24 from Beurs) in the direction "De Esch", and alight at stop "Woudestein". There, next to...More

This garden was beautiful! We hired bikes to get there because it was a decent distance from our hotel but well worth the trip. The tea house had delicious cake and we enjoyed eating it outside surrounded by the garden.

The arboretum is a tree garden, but has beautiful flowers and plants as well. Just taking a short walk here and relaxing on the parks benches completely relaxes you and takes all tension away. Worth it if you need the escape..

It should be beautiful in the autumn, too. Very peaceful and serene. They have lovely items in their gift shop, too. Check out their website (trompenburg.nl), to help you find it, and with opening hours, etc.
