Arboretum Kalmthout was a pleasure to revisit;in february there were many Hamamelis in bloom and other fragant winter flowers.A pleasant shop and plant-nursery and a wealth of rare and more common hardy scrubs and trees underplanted with helleborus and cyclamen.

Such a large arboretum, divided in colors, so many plants, very well maintained. You can easily spent a day here - if you are interested of course and you will discover something new around each corner.

This wasn't far from where we were staying so we called in. It's an understated little treasure. It was really quiet when we were there, but the gardens are well laid out with interesting nooks and crannies. Our granddaughter enjoyed running around the lawns and finding secret paths around the different plots. We had a drink in the cafe and... More

Worth a visit but take your time (3-4 hours) so that you can see everything. There were many trees that I have never seen before. Prices of plant sales were kind of OK. Magnificent garden. 7 € for entrance ticket.

this arboretum is large and very well planned, with many dells and glades featuring trees, shrubs, and flower beds as well as several ponds. I visited as part of a garden tour run by Special Group Tours and we arrived only 45 minutes before it closed, a pity because the site deserves at least 2-3 hours. It also has a... More

We came to this wonderful arboretum to take some hours of relax and to enjoy the colours and the peace. And then suddenly we had heard a noise behind us. When we turned around we saw a doe running from one bush to another. Didn't know if it was a doe 'of the house' or just 'a guest' like us,... More

Enjoyed a tour round this arboretum last Saturday, 20th September, particularly the Red Garden still full of colour. I especially liked the giant Salvia ?splendens enhanced by the Swiss chard stems and by the double scarlet red rocking chairs on the grass! It is also clear that even though many daisies flowering well at the moment (Helianthus perennials in particular)... More

We visited the garden again. Each time of the year it is magnificent. The variety and age of the trees set of by lovely planting under the trees creates views after views to be admired and enjoyed. The coffee shop is homely and serves simple dishes.
