Good beer, not a museum

I with five other friends went on a daytrip to brussels(we live in antwerp a other belgium city). On the "grote markt" of Brussels we saw a very beautifull building with the inscription of BELGIAN BEER MUSEUM on it. We decided to go inside, but that was not a good idea. We had to pay 5 euro to visit the... More

For 5 euros, you can visit this "museum" and receive a ticket for a beer. It's a cool location, but can't really be called a museum - they just show you a video in one of the two rooms then give you your beer. The beer was good though!

Don't waste your time over here. A meaningless 15 minutes video and a tiny lager or a Grimbergen beer for 5 €. As a beer lover and a Belgian, I'm ashamed that this nonsense is presented as a tourist attraction, located on one of the most beautiful market places in the world. I wouldn't call it a tourist trap, but... More

Nice location, but the main exhibit is a video. Strangely, it's not even obvious what included beer I was served. I asked the cheerful but very distracted francophone bartender and I just heard some French-like word that probably begins with "Cha"-. If you know how beer is made in the modern era, this is not at all worth it unless... More

My husband and I went to the museum with high expectations knowing the quality of beers made in Belgium and expected a real taste of what Belgian Beer is about. We paid an entrance fee of 5 euro and all that the place had to offer was two rooms, one with an interesting antique bar and the second one was... More

We went here with slightly higher expectations than it delivered. It was free with our Brussels Card so I have no complaints but there isn't much to it. There are two rooms, with some interesting information on beer but you could see everything you needed to in about 15min. That said the beer tasting may take you longer afterwards and... More

Don't be deceived - this is a limited (in terms of space) version of a museum with a reconstruction of a brewery from the 16th/17th century, a representation of a modern brewery, a 10 minute DVD on brewing and a couple of side stalls with short films on other aspects of beer production. Bearing in mind that Belgium is pretty... More

I suppose beer museum should have been a give away. I was hoping to see belgian beer being made like in Brugge. There are a few bits to see and do get a a glass of beer in a very interesting cellar pub. The landlord is very knowledgable and speaks good English. If i'd have had to pay for the... More

Not really a museum. You get in there, watch a video and then have a small beer. In my opinion not really worth the entrance fee (although if you go with the b card its worth it for the beer). IMO you'd be better off going to a brewery to learn about the art of making beer.

Some harsh reviews. It's not a massive museum, it has a bar, a reconstructed old and new brewery (non functional) and a couple of videos explaining the styles and process. Get a beer at the end, takes an hour in and out for 5 euros. Can't go wrong.
