We saw the name appeared so many times in the guidebook and decided to visit the place first. Really old and we could not go in. Nothing looked especially or even surroundings doesn't look very appealing. Skip the place and visit St michael's church.

As someone from downunder I could never understand how these concrete squares get so much attention - where are the trees!! But I have come to like St Catherine's place because it has a really cool vibe - in summer everyone chills in the sun...More

This area was getting a bit run down, but wow, time and energy shows a great improvement. The church is interesting, the best seafood in town is to be found here and it is the centre of the winter festival (Christmas Market) along with lots...More

Huge foreboding impressive, looks over the square .We have been told they will clean it up soon. Maybe it is more imposing the way it is now???

Well, you have a square, with a bit of a view, and with quite some restaurants, cafés, and a Madame Moustache ;) If you don't know what that is, go check it out :)

We stayed 2 nights in a small hotel located on Place Ste. Catherine. It is a cobblestoned pedestrian strip roughly 40 metres wide banded by 2 narrow streets. It seemed to go on for at least a kilometre and is a combination of cobblestones, grassy...More

So many nice eateries to choose from or simply just wander around. Plus the church is a beautiful site.

Lovely square, plenty of good eateries all around and in the nearby Quai des Briques (however, avoid Les Crustacés, overpriced mediocre seafood with lousy service), close to Bourse. Lots to see: the St Catherine church, the Quais nearby, the Bourse, the lovely old houses all...More

Nostalgic place where every famous European had a drink and fish soup at least. Very expensive restaurants and normal ones for rest of us opened till 1 am. The most important is atmosphere.
