Wonderful summer evening

My husband and I went to one of their summer evening events in the park, unfortunately the castle was not open to the public at that time but the ground around was lovely.

I visited the castle itself several times. It is sometimes closed for longer periods for renovation works. The park is often open to events - plant market, concerts, exhibitions... Those are the reason for my regular visits! Some are free access, not all!

Even with the house closed for 10 years, the outside is very cool. Just like the pictures. Glad we went. Worth a 1 day trip.

It is beautiful from the outside, and there are lovely grounds. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping just to see it and photograph from the outside.

Beautiful gardens but the house is closed (July 2015). It is being restored so there is an exhibition with a video showing you what it would be like.

Of course there may be a more beautiful castle in Belgium, but if it is, I surely missed it. This one in Jehay has every possible shape, harmoniously combined under a spotted facade. You can photograph half of it without an entrance fee and for the other angles there is a 5 euros fee which provides access to a quite... More

This is a fantastic example of a 16th century chateau, picturesque in the extreme, set behind a moat, and set in beautifully manicured gardens. A wonderful place to visit - and at a good price. 5 euros for adults and 4 euros for juniors and seniors; not bad. Add to that the biologically very accurate statues of female nudes dotted... More

I wanted to visit this Castle for the second time so I called them to ask whether the Chateau would be opened during labor day. The person who answered the phone told me that the Chateau would be opened as it was Sunday. It took us one hour to reach the Chateau, to find out that it was closed. What... More

On our way to Liege we stopped at the Chateau for a quick recess and were surprised by the lovely gardens and sculptures... For a stop on the way it was perfect and I would highly recommend it.
