My first cave visit. Nice gentleman who greeted us and made wonderful cup of coffee in sub zero temp. Temp inside caves are very comfortable - 12 degrees. Can not carry pram inside, so you can keep it where you buy your tickets from. Knowledgeable guide who spoke in 3 different languages including English! Fascinating limestone stalactites, stalagmites, columns, waterfall... More

It is my first experience inside a natural limestone cave.it is one of the attraction not to be missed if you go to Dinant.Without this dinant visit is incomplete.Nice place. We went with our 2 year old kid.Strollers are not allowed .But there is a place in the ticketing area to keep strollers.

After spending almost the whole afternoon in the Citadel and walking around downtown, we decided to go and find the caves. It was getting warmer while we kept going uphill, but we finally found it. We had a group of about 12 people with different nationalities and the tour guide actually spoke 3 different languages and it was very clear.... More

Coming from South Africa where we have the Cango caves, I am often disappointed by some peoples description of a cave, but not these ones. After a nice stroll from the city center and up the Hill, I got to the entrance of Grotte La Merveilleuse, and that is what they are marvelous and quite spectacular with examples of both... More

The caves are a true treasure trove of stalactites. This is so serene and beautiful that I wonder why the Belgium Tourism doesn't market them. This is managed by a local person than having a full time tourism office. What a waste opportunity. Anyway the caves themselves are pretty. The tour takes just about an hour, but you can stay... What a treat! I really enjoyed the tour of the Grotte La Merveilleuse. The guide spoke fluent English and was very attentive to make sure that the guests understood what he was saying. He was very informative in a proffessional but also personal way. The caves in themselves are beautiful and very accessible (compared to other caves I've visited). Be... More

We have visited many caves through the years and enjoyed this one too. It isn't very large and only takes 30-40 minutes to see. Well planned and easy except for the stairs out. If in Dinan, it is worth a visit.

If you like caves, you'll love these caves. Lots of stalactites, stalagmites, and cascades. The highlight is the largest stalactite deviating from the perpendicular in the whole of Europe! I won't spoil the surprise by revealing the cause. Tours are in French and Nederlands, but little English is spoken. There are some stuffed animals in the little cafe, and refreshments... More
