It's a very pretty little park, but not as nice as others. It's also a half hour walk outside of the city center, so not really worth it unless you're going to save time using the tram. The walk isn't that long really, but I...More

We came here on our way from the city centre to the train station. We didn't intend to see the park but did anyway. There are some pretty statues here and benches one can sit on and relax. We were here during the spring and...More

This is a notorious place for muggers and as a meeting place for gay men. My 90-year-old godmother was robbed here. Be very careful when walking around here.

This is a very nice park to walk around in and enjoy some nature while not having to leave the city. Two of Ghent's art museums are located here too so you can hit 3 birds with 1 stone.

Citadel Park appears to have once been grand, but now shows signs of neglect from years of disrepair. Dogs seem to be its most popular visitor with owners in tow. There's also the distressing sound of barking coming from a building near the lake. Both...More

I love the parks, sitting under a tree listening to the sound of nature. I also like to Take pictures, it's a really lovely place, one of my favorite in Gand. Next to it you can find the S.M.A.K. Museum.

Is it safe for a solo female to visit Ghent? I read quite a bit about Brussels being unsafe place - pickpockets in public places like train stations, petty crimes, daylight robbery. Is it that bad in Ghent and Brugge too?

It is safe and very friendly, especially in the general city centre and neighbourhoods along the main roads towards it from the south. No need to worry, but as in almost every city in the world you shouldnt walk with your... More
