It was a rainy day in Leuven, but I decided to walk the Groot Begijnhof anyway. It was a very peaceful beautiful walk as I had been told by other visitors. Beautiful bridges over the river and lovely gardens hold a surprise around every corner....More

I am so glad we had a chance to visit Groot Begijnhof! It was like a walk into the past. It used to be a beguinage, and is so well preserved it seems almost fake! But don't mistake the quietness and peace for emptiness. Now...More

Good place to take pictures. A walk on these streets is a thing you should do when in Leuven. Best at sunset.

The Great Beguinage dates from the 13th century. Has pretty cobble stone alleys, courtyards, gardens and parks. The Great Beguinage was listed as UNESCO world heritage in 1998. You can visit it free of charge.

Groot Begijnhoof is a very charming, quite place just outside the old town of Leuven - it takes only 12 minutes to get there. Great place for a walk or date :)

Not a museum in fact but a very well-preserved, beautiful, quiet neighbourhood. People still live here and there are signs telling you not to picnic on their lawns, etc. which I can understand completely. It was lovely to see the old architecture and the way...More
